The Greece Chamber of Commerce announced today the winners of their 2011 Civic Awards. GRB is proud to be a sponsor of this event, which highlights the impressive people and places that are working to make Greece an even better place to live and work. The awards ceremony will take place on 4/28 at the Greece Marriott.

In 2006, RIT received $13 million from entrepreneur E. Philip Saunders to create the E. Philip Saunders College of Business.  A lifelong entrepreneur, Saunders is currently Chairman of GRB.  RIT highlighted him in their alumni magazine. 

We are proud to announce the inaugural student art show at the Elizabeth Regional Gallery at ARTISANworks, made possible by GRB.  

For the first time, ARTISANworks is partnering with NYSATA Region 2 to help recognize the extraordinary K-12 student artists in this community.  Forty student works from 24 school districts will be on display in the Elizabeth Regional Gallery - a new gallery exhibit space sponsored by Genesee Regional Bank.

Phil Saunders, GRB’s Chairman, embarked on an epic adventure last summer.  In July 2010, Saunders’ six-man team, the Sugar Creek Bears, paddled 17 hours a day for over a week on the Yukon River through Canada and Alaska.  RIT's alumni magazine profiled their odyssey. 

Phil Saunders continues his involvement in the transportation and energy industries, accepting a position as a director of Torvec, a local company that develops automotive energy saving technologies.  Read their blog post about the addition.
